Cardif is a BNP Paribas Assurance's life insurance company, the insurance arm of BNP Paribas. It develops and markets its products and services via multiple partners in 41 countries under two brands :
BNP Paribas for products ditributed by BNP Paribas retail banking branches in France and BNP Paribas Private Bank in France, and Cardif for products distributed via other networks in France and worldwide.
Cardif works with 35 of the world's top banks, numerous financial institutions amoung which credit companies, credit arms of car makers and major retail groups.
In 2009, Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services assigned its "AA" long-term counterparty credit and insurer financial strength ratings to Cardif Assurance Vie and Cardif Assurances Risques Divers.
